NEW: AMT107X Family of Capacitive Position Sensors

The AMT1070,AMT1071 and AMT1072 integrated circuits offer eight times the speed and resolution of the previous version. A precision 20 Mhz time base is added which increases the reliability and allows for serial ttl configurability and monitoring. Native resolutions are generated from an internal lookup table in RAM.

The AMT1070 is the analog front end which is a separate chip so that noise effects can be minimized. The AMT1071 is used along with the AMT1070 to create a traditional quadrature and commutation encoder. The AMT1072 is used with the AMT1070 to create an absolute encoder.

Depending on the transmitter pattern, a maximum resolution of 262,144 can be realized (00000 to 3FFFF hex which is 18 bits) . The encoder works by generating sin and cos PAM modulated signals from the AMT1071 or AMT1072 which are transmitted through the sensor, then are received by the AMT1070 demodulator. Details can be found on the CUI Devices website or Andermotion.

Small Package Size

We package the ICs in tiny 3x3 mm QFN packages. The ICs have either 16 or 20 pads and work from 3.3 volts.
